Shoolini University has retained its position as the highest-ranked university from Himachal Pradesh, in the rankings announced by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Union Education ministry today.
The university has secured 69th position in the universities category which is a notch above the rankings announced last year.
It is the only university from the state to feature in the top 100, highlighting Shoolini’s growing academic and research excellence. The University also achieved an impressive 44th rank in Pharmacy, setting a benchmark for higher education in the region and standing out as a model of innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
The NIRF 2025 performance reaffirms Shoolini University’s place as the top-ranked university in Himachal Pradesh and one of India’s leading private universities. With a strong focus on research, sustainability, and global competitiveness, Shoolini continues to set the standard for higher education in the state and beyond.
Shoolini University’s strong performance this year further cements its reputation as one of India’s rising institutions of higher learning. The University secured a place in the 101–150 band in the Overall category, ranked 69 among universities, 44 in Pharmacy, and featured in the 101–150 band in Engineering. Additionally, in the newly introduced Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) rankings, Shoolini earned a spot in the 11–50 band, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and social impact.
In comparison, in the NIRF 2024 rankings, Shoolini was placed 89 in the Overall category, 70 among universities, and 30 in Pharmacy.
Chancellor Prof. P. K. Khosla congratulated the Shoolini family on this achievement and called for collective efforts to reach even higher. Prof Khosla said, this year though we have improved our NIRF ranking now by one point from 70 to 69. Let us now plan to jump by ten points score to reach 59. Everything is doable provided we all join hands to achieve this target.
Pro Vice Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand described the ranking as another proud milestone in Shoolini’s journey. He said, this is the result of the great work by our faculty, students, and staff. Our focus now is to work towards a Top 50 rank. Research has always been the soul of Shoolini University, and we are determined to take it further by building stronger collaborations, publishing impactful work, and mentoring the next generation of innovators.
