At Shimla’s regional Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) hospital, patients must rush from one place to another to acquire X-rays. On Monday, there was also a line to receive X-rays. As a result, the patients’ X-rays were not completed on schedule. Nowadays, getting an X-ray may be very challenging for patients. The government isn’t even addressing this, which is remarkable. To receive X-rays, about half of the patients must visit private laboratories.
X-rays should have been completed in a day, but patients at DDU are being given dates of two to three weeks. Some people are choosing to seek treatment at IGMC. The OPD at DDU Hospital is between 1200 and 1500 each day. Every day, about 100 people require X-rays here. This hospital also hosts Ortho OPD. Orthopaedic patients receive the most X-ray prescriptions from doctors in such circumstances. The state of this hospital is such that, despite the lack of facilities, the number of patients is constantly rising. However, this hospital should have had enough X-ray facilities.
MRI and CT scans are not even available to patients at DDU Hospital. Patients are referred to IGMC as a result. However, this hospital ought to have had this capability as well. Patients’ problems have significantly escalated as a result of the facility’s unavailability.
According to MS Lokendra Sharma of DDU Hospital, X-rays of patients are performed in our facility. The number of patients frequently rises, and in these circumstances, taking an X-ray takes longer. It’s not that no patient’s X-rays are taken. To ensure that patients have no issues, every effort will be made to provide X-ray facilities.
