A 29-year-old man tragically died during a cricket match in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The incident occurred in the Dharmpur subdivision of the district. It is reported that the man was bowling during the match when he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar (29), son of Krishan Chand, from the village of Kapahi in the Sari tehsil of Dharmpur.
According to the information received, a cricket trophy is currently being organized by the Dharmpur Youth Club at the grounds of Government College Dharmpur. On Tuesday, the Sari team was playing against the Kujjabalh team, which was batting first in the match.
Vijay Kumar was bowling for the Sari team. After completing three deliveries, as he turned to deliver the fourth ball, he collapsed on the field. All the players rushed to his aid, and he was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Dharmpur, but he died during treatment. It is reported that the deceased had not yet been married.
DSP Dharmpur Sanjeev Sood has confirmed the incident. He stated that after receiving information about the incident, the police took custody of the body and sent it to Sarkaghat for an autopsy. Preliminary investigations suggest that the man may have suffered a heart attack, but the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report.
