The opposition is wasting the valuable time of Parliament by running away from the discussion: Anurag Singh Thakur
11 August 2025, Himachal Pradesh: Former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, on the obstruction in the passage of the National Sports Administration Bill, 2025 and the National Anti-Doping Amendment Bill, 2025 due to the ruckus created by the opposition in Parliament, said that this sports bill is in the interest of youth and players but the attitude of the opposition towards the Sports Bill is indifferent. Also, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said that it is unfortunate that the opposition is wasting the valuable time of Parliament by disrupting the proceedings of the House by creating ruckus every day.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “The time of Parliament is invaluable and it is the collective responsibility of the ruling party and the opposition to use it in public interest. Unfortunately, the opposition is using this monsoon session of Parliament to shine its petty politics instead of public interest and is doing the unfortunate act of disrupting the session by creating ruckus in the House every day. The opposition is not only wasting the time of Parliament but is also insulting the taxpayers of the country. These people hold the Constitution book, but do not believe in the Constitution. The opposition in Parliament is not only running away from discussion but also from its responsibility, so instead of discussing in Parliament, it is trying to cover up its crimes by taking out a march on the road.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “2 days of time was given in Lok Sabha and 2 days in Rajya Sabha on the Income Tax Bill, but the opposition is not even discussing it. Similarly, the opposition’s indifferent attitude is also being seen regarding the National Sports Administration Bill, 2025 and the National Anti-Doping Amendment Bill, 2025, which are very important for our youth and sportspersons. Why do the Congress and opposition parties not want the welfare of our sportspersons? The opposition should understand its responsibility, discuss important bills and if there is any amendment in it, then tell it, but in the interest of the country, instead of running away from the discussion, it must participate in the discussion. Not allowing Parliament to function and spreading anarchy is all a well-planned ploy of the opposition, so that attention can be diverted from the real issues of the public and an atmosphere of instability can be created in the country.
