The monsoon will remain slow in the state on Saturday, and no alert of any kind has been issued for this, but a yellow alert has been issued on Sunday, and then an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in some districts for the next three days from Monday. On Friday, Shimla received 3 mm rainfall, Sundarnagar and Manali 2 mm, Bhuntar, Solan, Dhaula Kuan and Kalpa 1 mm each, Hamirpur 5.5 mm, Kufri 3.5 mm, Narkanda 2.5 mm, Bharmour, Reckong Peo and Seobagh 0.5 mm each.
250 connecting roads were closed in the state due to landslides and heavy rains on Friday morning. These include 182 roads in Mandi district alone. The situation has not yet become normal due to the cloudburst incident in Mandi district on June 30. 26 connecting roads are closed in Sirmaur district, 23 in Kullu, 10 in Kangra, 6 in Solan and 3 in Una; machinery and labour are engaged in opening them. 81 electricity transformers and 61 drinking water schemes are closed in the state, out of which 39 transformers and 50 drinking water schemes of Mandi district are prominent. 40 transformers are closed in Kullu.
So far in the monsoon season, 110 people have died in the state, 35 people are missing, and 199 people have been injured. The highest number of deaths have occurred in Mandi district, where 20 people have lost their lives and 27 people are missing. 19 deaths have been recorded in Kangra, 11 in Kullu, 9 each in Hamirpur and Chamba and 8 each in Solan, Bilaspur and Una. Financial losses have also been huge due to the monsoon. So far, property worth about Rs 1220 crore has been damaged, in which the Public Works Department has suffered the maximum loss of Rs 546 crore and the Jal Shakti Department has suffered a loss of Rs 434 crore.
377 houses and 256 shops have been completely destroyed in the state, while 723 houses have been partially damaged. In Mandi district itself, 350 houses, 233 shops, and 746 cowsheds have been completely destroyed. At the same time, 544 houses have been partially damaged in the district. During the monsoon season, 22 incidents of cloudburst, 32 incidents of flash floods, and 19 incidents of landslides have been recorded.
