Over 600 students attended SPRINT, a skill enhancement programme run by Shoolini University, over a two-day session which concluded on Friday.
Undergraduate students of 3rd semester across all streams participated in the virtual event. The theme being self-development, the students had sessions on various topics to keep themselves healthy, both physically and mentally.
The Skill Progression Rapid Intensive Innovative Training (SPRINT), as the programme is called, started with virtual yoga sessions. Other sessions on creativity, motivation and against the over-use of social media besides tips for “Better Life” were well appreciated by the students. A quiz on the important topics covered during the programme was also conducted.
Vice-Chancellor Prof P K Khosla appreciated the efforts of organising team in this difficult situation and motivated the students to keep themselves healthy and also encouraged them to work on personal development.
Mrs Poonam Nanda, Director, SPRINT, said the session was highly educative for all. “The effort was to give the students a feel of attending SPRINT in real life as if they were actually in campus. Students attended the SPRINT dressed in formal attire and actively participated in discussions with the chat option”.
Group activities were an integral part of the programme where students got into virtual rooms and teams to prepare their presentations. The presentations and videos created by their teams were uploaded by the students.
“These sort of exercises not only promote team work but also enhance leadership and communication skills, students learn time and conflict management. It also gives them exposure to the ‘New Normal’ which is something we need to adapt in our lives”, Mrs Nanda added.
