Solan, February 28, 2026: A thought-provoking panel discussion on “The Invisible Chain: Navigating Mental Health & Addiction in Youth” was organised at the auditorium of LR Group of Institutes on Friday. The programme aimed to raise awareness about mental health and the growing issue of substance abuse among youth and to promote open dialogue on these sensitive concerns.
The event was conducted under the leadership of Managing Director Shachi Singh of LLR Educational Trust. The panel featured Vice-Chancellor Dr Ravi Chand Sharma of Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Dr K.K. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, SDPO Solan Anil Sharma, BK Babita from Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, and Shachi Singh as expert speakers.

Dr Ravi Chand Sharma highlighted the impact of academic pressure and social media on students’ mental well-being, stating that education should focus not only on academic achievement but also on building balanced and resilient personalities.
SDPO Anil Sharma spoke about early signs of substance abuse among youth, peer pressure and the importance of legal awareness. He urged students to remain vigilant and responsible citizens.
Dr K.K. Sharma emphasised that along with quality education, spiritual awareness and meditation play a crucial role in shaping better individuals. He said that while education guides individuals towards their goals, the ability to take the right decisions at the right time comes from inner awareness and positive thinking.
BK Babita stressed the importance of stress management, meditation and self-exploration, noting that inner peace and spiritual consciousness can guide youth in a positive direction.
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director Shachi Singh said, “Youth are the strength and future of our nation. Open discussions on mental health and de-addiction are the need of the hour. Our institution is committed to providing a safe, supportive and value-based environment for students.”
Students and faculty members actively participated in an interactive question-and-answer session. The programme concluded with the message, “High on Life, Not on Drugs,” encouraging participants to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle.
