· Adventure sports being promoted in the State: R.S. Bali
Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Limited (HPTDCL), R.S. Bali virtually attended from here the opening ceremony of the Paragliding Pre-World Cup being organized at Bir-Billing in district Kangra today.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Kishori Lal inaugurated the international event by flagging off the paraglider on the occasion.
R.S. Bali said that Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has envisaged Kangra as a tourist capital of the State. The Government is working on various projects for this purpose. Himachal Pradesh has been the favourite tourist destination. The State offers various panoramic and attractive tourist places. It is an honour to host Paragliding Pre-World Cup. Sports enthusiasts and people of the State are excited about this event. Total 186 participants from different countries have registered for this event which will conclude on 2nd November, he added.
He said that State Government was promoting adventure sports in the State. New and unexploded destinations were being developed for this purpose. Flying festival was organised at Junga in district Shimla recently. Earlier Paragliding Pre World Cup was organised in the Bir-Billing in April this year. The State would host more such events in the future.
He said that the tourism sector has bloomed in the State. HPTDCL has successfully facilitated and provided relief to tourists during the recent disaster in the State.
R.S. Bali extended his heartfelt wishes to all participants, Billing Paragliding Association, Tourism department and HPTDCL.
Principal Secretary Tourism, Devesh Kumar, Director Tourism, Amit Kashyap and other senior officers of HPTDCL were present from Shimla whereas Chairman of Billing Paragliding Association, Anurag Sharma and other dignitaries were present at Bir-Billing on the occasion.
