In view of ongoing pipeline laying work in the city, vehicular movement on the stretch from Dhingu Devi Mata Mandir to Sanjauli Dhali Road Junction will remain restricted during specified hours till 11 February 2026.
As per orders issued by District Magistrate, Shimla, Shri Anupam Kashyap, traffic on the said route will remain closed daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. During the remaining hours, traffic will operate as usual.
The restriction has been imposed to facilitate the safe and smooth execution of pipeline works being carried out by the Shimla Water Management Corporation Limited.
To ensure proper traffic management, the district administration has directed the deployment of traffic marshals wearing reflector jackets at the work site. Adequate signboards and barricades will also be installed. It has been made mandatory for the implementing agency to remove excavation debris from the road on a daily basis.
Keeping emergency services in mind, uninterrupted passage will be ensured for ambulances and other essential vehicles. Instructions have also been issued to immediately inform the local administration in case of any emergency. The agency has further been directed to take special care for the safety of senior citizens, schoolchildren, and pedestrians.
The district administration has appealed to motorists and the general public for their cooperation and has advised them to use alternative routes during the restricted hours.
