In Himachal Pradesh, the cold had increased after snowfall on the high peaks for the last three days, but the people of the state got relief due to sunshine on Sunday. Due to sunshine, the maximum temperature of the state has increased by two to three degrees, due to which the maximum temperature was three to four degrees higher than normal. This change was somewhat relieving because people were troubled due to the increase in cold.
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of Western Disturbance becoming active again on February 25. Due to this disturbance, a warning of heavy snowfall and rain has been issued in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of Western Disturbance will remain till March 2, and during this time cold wave conditions may also arise. This means that the cold may increase further in the coming days, due to which people may have to face difficulties in battling the cold.
In the month of February, the state has received 50 percent less rainfall than normal, and if we talk about the entire season, January and February have recorded 68 percent less rainfall than normal. These figures can be a matter of concern for the state, as it can lead to a drop in water level and problems in agricultural work. There was some relief on Sunday, as the day temperature increased due to sunshine. However, fog was also seen at some places in areas like Bilaspur, Mandi, and Una. This fog can further increase the cold.
The minimum temperature in the state has also dropped by one to three degrees. Its effect can be seen in the form of an increase in cold in the morning and evening. Therefore, the cold is likely to increase further due to the cold wave, which may increase the need for people to wear warm clothes.
