The Electricity Board has started preparations in Shimla city to ensure that electricity supply should not be disrupted due to rain, snowfall and storm in winter. Due to repair work in various feeders in Shimla city, power supply will be disrupted in various areas from 10 am to 5 pm till November 25. The board management has released the schedule for this.
All J.E. and necessary directions have also been given to other officials. During this period, along with checking of lines, the board management will also do cutting and pruning of trees near the electricity poles so that the lines are not affected due to breaking of branches in wind, storm and snowfall. In areas where power supply is likely to be disrupted and it takes time to restore power, alternative wires will also be laid so that in case of power disruption, another line can be started.
Supply will be disrupted in these areas on 4th, 5th November
On 4th November 11 K.V. Strawberry Feeder, Healds New Boys Hostel Feeder, Happy Child, Ankur De, New Verma Apartment New Strawberry, Ayurvedic Hospital South Gate Hotel, Telephone Exchange, New Boys Hostel including Brockhurst, Co-operative Bank, Lower and Middle Sangti, Shiv Mandir, Upper Sanog, UIIT Electricity supply will be disrupted in Girls Hostel Chariton and surrounding areas.
On 5th November at 11am. V. Tutu Chakkar Feeder, 11 K. Kamna Devi, Upper Chakkar, Forest Colony, BJP Office, Ghoda Chowki, Barrier, Bagh Gaon, Dargah, Kachchighati, C.P.W. under V. Mallyana Old Flower Dell. D. Apart from Colony, Baluganj Bazaar, Mental Hospital, Dhingra Estate, power supply will be disrupted in Himuda Colony, Flower Dale, Sadhna Ghati, Majitha House, Governor Guest House, Moon International and surrounding areas.
Tanuj Gupta, City officer said that the electrical repair work is being started in the city before winter, hence this repair work will continue till 25th November in Shimla city. In such a situation, power supply will be disrupted under various feeders so that power supply is not disrupted in winter.
Information about disrupted power supply will be sent to consumers through social media and newspapers. Consumers should also cooperate for this.
