Now even after the second child is a daughter, under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, an amount of six thousand rupees is being given as incentive by the government. Bank KYC will have to be compulsorily updated to take advantage of the scheme. Those who do not do this, the amount given under the scheme will not be sent to the account. Also, women can apply online to take advantage of the scheme.
Earlier, under the scheme, a cash incentive of Rs 5,000 was provided directly into the accounts of pregnant women and lactating mothers for the first living child in the family on fulfillment of specific conditions related to maternal and child health. In which the first installment of Rs.1000 was given after registration from the time of conception, the second installment of Rs.2,000 after pre-natal checkup and the third installment of Rs.2,000 after proof of birth of the child.
Will get the amount even if there is a second daughter
But now under the scheme incentive amount is being provided even if the second child is a daughter. On the other hand, District Program Officer Rakesh Kumar said that eligible women will have to apply first to take advantage of the scheme. All the documents have to be attached in the application. They will be able to get the benefit of this scheme only after the application is found correct.
