Prof. Nageshwar Rao, VC IGNOU assumes additional charge of the post of Director, Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla on 23.05.2022
Prof. Nageshwar Rao, VC IGNOU has been entrusted additional charge of the post of Director, Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla as per the notice from Ministry of Education.
Prof. Rao has successfully steered the Open University, IGNOU during the pandemic times and has been largely responsible for bringing about the paradigm shift from Open and Distance Learning to hybrid learning with Online as a component. He has also been instrumental in implementation of NEP-2020 recommendations at the University with a multi-disciplinary focus and introduction of an Accredit based system.
He will continue till the appointment of regular director.
