Two devotees from Pathankot who went on the Manimahesh Yatra have died. The bodies of both the devotees are being brought to Bharmour. According to the information, 18-year-old Aman from the Sujanpur district of Pathankot was rescued last night, and he died in Gaurikund. This devotee died due to lack of oxygen. The other devotee died on the Kugti track. His body is being brought to Bharmour by the Mount Training and NDRF team. The name of the deceased is 18-year-old Rohit, and he also hails from Pathankot, who died due to cold. Apart from this, another person has died whose name is Anmol, who is said to be a resident of Gurdaspur. He also died due to lack of oxygen. The incident has been confirmed by ADM Bharmour Kulbir Singh Rana.
He said that the Manimahesh Yatra has been temporarily stopped since yesterday. Devotees have been asked to stay at safe places in view of security. According to the information, the Pathankot-Bharmour National Highway is closed at Kalsui Jangi and Durgathi, due to which the movement of vehicles is also completely stopped.
The administration has appealed to all the devotees going to Mani Mahesh to stay at safe places. The journey will be temporarily stopped until the weather improves. Due to continuous rain for the last 24 hours, life here has become completely disrupted. Roads have been closed due to landslides at many places. At many places, travelers are stranded in the middle of the way and are being appealed to stay there.
Apart from this, many people of Bharmour have come forward to help the devotees stranded due to heavy rains at various places from Chamba to Hadsar, they have requested to give shelter to the travelers in their homes. Among them, local volunteers like Kaku, resident of Lahal, Bharmour, Rishu Rihal, resident of Rehala Thobu, Raj Singh, a resident of Dinka, Anil Kumar, a resident of Dhakog, Mamta Thakur, resident of Dandarda, Ganesh Sharma, a resident of Khani etc. have also requested the pilgrims to come to their homes without hesitation.
They will be provided all facilities of food, drink, sleep, etc., free of cost. They have requested the pilgrims not to unnecessarily risk their lives looking at the weather and, wherever they are stranded or staying, to go to the nearest houses for shelter, whether they are going to Mani Mahesh or going back to their home. Travel further only after the weather clears.
