Punjab University issued a notice regarding the postponement of all examinations scheduled for May 9, 10 and 12.
Punjab’s Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains ordered the closure of all educational institutions across the state for the next three days amid what officials described as a “devolving situation”. The directive applies to all government, private, and aided schools, colleges, and universities.
This occurred as a blackout was imposed in many Pakistani and Chandigarh regions, and eight missiles were fired from Pakistan at areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In view of the devolving situation, it is hereby ordered that all Schools, Colleges, and universities—Government, Private, and Aided — across entire Punjab shall remain completely closed for the next three days,” Bains posted on twitter. In a parallel move, the Chandigarh administration also announced that all schools in the Union Territory will remain shut for the next two days, citing an alert issued by the public relations department.
