A rabies awareness program was organized today at Himachal Pradesh University Regional Center, Dharamshala. On this occasion, Center Director Professor Dr. Kuldeep Atri said that rabies is a fatal but completely preventable disease and there should be awareness about it in the society. He urged the students, faculty members and the local community to contribute to eradicating the problem of rabies through vaccination and vigilance and awareness.
In his address, Principal of the Department of Legal Studies, Dr. D.P. Verma said that it is necessary to promote the spirit of coexistence between animals and humans. He said that people should be aware of their duties and rights even from a legal point of view. He appealed to the students to play a leading role in spreading such public awareness campaigns to the society. Director Pratibha, Social Media Advisor Shweta, Sahil and Community Engagement Manager Himani Negi, Dharamshala Animal Rescue, provided special support in organizing this program. Students and faculty participated enthusiastically in the program and pledged that they will actively contribute towards rabies eradication and animal welfare.
