New committee of Himachal Pradesh Forest Service Welfare Association elected
Shimla, 22 September
The Himachal Pradesh Forest Service Welfare Association has successfully elected its new State Committee for the two-year tenure (2025–27). The Association, which represents the officers of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Service (HPFS), is dedicated to the professional and welfare interests of its members and is committed to contributing to the state’s forest conservation efforts, biodiversity protection, and sustainable environmental practices.

The election was conducted in hybrid mode at Talland, Shimla. During the election process, the members once again showed significant interest in Rahul Sharma to lead the Association, demonstrating their continued trust and confidence in his leadership. As a result, the following office-bearers were elected unanimously:

Other than these, Sanjeev Thakur and Ambrish Sharma were nominated as advisors to the committee.
The outgoing committee was thanked for its invaluable contributions and dedication to the welfare of the officers, and the new committee expressed its commitment to carrying forward this legacy. The Association aims to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of its members, particularly focusing on service-related matters, capacity building, and professional development.
In its new term, the Association has committed to playing a proactive role in strengthening the relationship between HPFS officers and the Forest Department, enhancing coordination for more efficient forest management, and supporting initiatives for climate change mitigation, wildlife conservation, and public awareness regarding environmental issues in the state.
