The weather may deteriorate again in the high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Center Shimla has predicted rain and snowfall for four days in the high-altitude areas of the state. This change in weather is likely due to the activation of Western Disturbance. According to the department, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the high-altitude areas of Chamba, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Kangra and Kinnaur districts from 29 November to 2 December. This is likely to cause a drop in temperature. The weather is expected to remain clear in the remaining districts for the next seven days.
On the other hand, the minimum temperature of five places including Tabo in the state has been recorded in minus. Due to the minimum temperature going below zero, black ice has started forming on the roads of the hilly areas. Trekking and mountaineering activities on tracks and peaks in Chamba district have been banned till further orders. The minimum temperature in 26 places, including Shimla is less than 10 degrees Celsius. Waterfalls and rivers have frozen in the high mountainous regions of the state.
