Rainfall will continue for seven days in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Centre Shimla has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in some parts of the state. The weather will remain bad in the Shimla district.
During the last 24 hours, 87.0 mm rain was recorded in Kasauli, 66.0 mm in Kandaghat, 65.2 mm in Katula, 54.1 mm in Shimla, 50.8 mm in Bilaspur, 42.6 mm in Nainadevi, 40.0 mm in Malraon, 10.8 mm in Sundernagar, 10.4 mm in Una, 15.0 mm in Solan, 14.0 mm in Manali, 31.6 mm in Jubbarhatti, 10.0 mm in Bharmour, 39.5 mm in Dhaula Kuan, 19.0 mm in Barthin and 10.8 mm in Paonta Sahib.
On the other hand, the debris and stones falling continue at the Chakkimod on Kalka-Shimla NH. There is a danger of landslide at Chakkimod. Paonta Sahib-Shilai National Highway was closed for 24 hours due to a landslide near Hevna and Shimla-Kinnaur National Highway was closed for 23 hours near Nigulsari.
According to the State Emergency Operation Center, due to landslides at various places, traffic on 118 roads including two national highways remained halted in the state till 10:00 am on Wednesday. Three bridges are also damaged. Also, 228 electricity transformers and 11 water supply schemes are affected. Most of the electricity, water and road services are affected in Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur and Kangra districts.
On Wednesday, the minimum temperature was recorded at Shimla 15.6, Sundernagar 20.5, Bhuntar 19.9, Kalpa 13.4, Dharamshala 18.0, Una 20.6, Nahan 23.7, Keylong 10.6, Palampur 18.5, Solan 19.5, Manali 16.2, Kangra 21.4, Mandi 21.3, Bilaspur 22.8, Chamba 22.1, Dalhousie 13.0, Kasauli 16.5, Paonta Sahib 24.0, Sarahan 17.5, Dehra Gopipur 24.0, Tabo 14.8, Mashobra 15.4 and Sainj 18.2 degrees Celsius. Danger of landslides at various places on the Circular Road
Due to heavy rains in the capital Shimla, there is a danger of landslides at various places on the Circular Road. Landslides occur continuously from the hill near the High Court ahead of the lift during the rains. Due to this, the movement of vehicles is affected here every day. Apart from this, landslides are also continuously occurring from the hill near Toland, Forest Department Headquarters, Toland and Himfed Petrol Pump near Nav Bahar. Apart from this, if we talk about the National Highway, people are travelling by risking their lives due to continuous landslides from the hill at two places near Vikasnagar and Chakkar.
