Hamirpur, August 16:
On the occasion of Independence Day, a dignified programme was organised at Ambedkar Bhawan located in Gram Panchayat Lag Kadiyar of Garh Divas Sujanpur Assembly constituency, in which former MLA of Sujanpur Rajendra Rana, as the chief guest, hoisted the flag and addressed the gathering. The function was jointly organised by Sujanpur Tihra and Bamsan (Tauni Devi) Mandals.
In his inspirational address, former MLA Rajendra Rana said that our history is full of sacrifices of the heroes and due to other sacrifices, we got freedom from the shackles of slavery.
Following the ideals of our freedom fighters and the brave sons who participated enthusiastically in the freedom movement is the true tribute to them. He said that we should play our role in building a strong, healthy, and self-reliant society; this is the true national service of today’s time.
The special thing about the program was that the ex-servicemen who participated in the wars of 1965 and 1971, the families of the soldiers martyred in the Kargil war, and the families of freedom fighters were honored by presenting mementos. During this, the auditorium echoed with patriotic slogans and applause.
Rajendra Rana said, “The independence of the country was not limited to 1947 only. Our warriors also wrote their saga of bravery in conflicts like 1962, 1965, 1971, and Kargil and even today our forces are giving a befitting reply to the enemies on every front. We have to cherish this legacy of bravery and connect the next generation with it.”
Various cultural programs were also presented on this occasion, in which patriotic songs and dances by schoolchildren captivated everyone. The dignity of the program increased further due to the presence of numerous local people.
The program concluded with the national anthem.
On this occasion, President of the Bamsan Mandal Professor Vikram Rana, General Secretary Suresh Thakur, Ranjeet Singh, former military officer Captain Jyoti Prakash Sena Medal Medal, Captain Dilip Singh, Captain Deshraj Rangda, Captain Ashok Kumar, Captain Ravi Kumar, Captain Prakash Singh, Captain Bhoop Singh, Captain Bhumi Dev, Captain Jagatram, Subedar Vinod Thakur and all the officials as well as many dignitaries were present.
