*Said – should we run away from secrets and scams or should we follow the ‘Rahul Gandhi formula’?*
Hamirpur, September 18: Senior Himachal Pradesh BJP spokesperson and former Sujanpur MLA Rajendra Rana has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s sudden foreign trip. He said that while the entire state is reeling from the disaster, people are grappling with the grief and devastation of losing loved ones, and are hoping for relief from the government, the state’s head quietly flies from Delhi to London, leaving the public to fend for themselves.
Rajendra Rana questioned the Chief Minister’s departure for London on Thursday morning’s 11:40 a.m. flight, saying that the entire incident is mysterious. No official government tour was announced, nor was responsibility for relief work clarified. In such a situation, the Chief Minister’s sudden departure abroad, turning his back on the state in times of disaster, and abandoning the people, exposes his callousness.
He sarcastically asked whether Rahul Gandhi had advised Chief Minister Sukhu to quietly go abroad. Congress leaders themselves often leave for foreign countries whenever Parliament is in session or a major national debate is underway. Rajendra Rana sarcastically asked whether Sukhu had adopted the same Rahul Gandhi formula.
Rajendra Rana alleged that scams are constantly being exposed in the state and that numerous investigative agencies, including the CBI, have become active. In such a situation, is the Chief Minister’s foreign visit an attempt to evade investigations and accountability, or is there some other mystery behind it? He said that this attitude of the Chief Minister and the Congress government not only raises questions but also hurts the people of the state.
Rana even sarcastically asked, “Has the British government invited Sukhu to London to discuss relief efforts in Himachal?” He added that abandoning the people in a time of disaster and fleeing abroad would go down in the state’s history as an unfortunate and shameful incident.
