Rajgarh, December 21. The saying “The promising young man has smooth leaves” fits perfectly for Nishant Sharma, a promising young man from Habban in the Rajgarh region. Educated in a rural environment, he currently serves as SDM in Nadaun, the constituency of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He was recently inducted into the Himachal Administrative Services. Prior to this, Nishant Sharma served as Block Development Officer in Chaupal, Gohar, Sujanpur Tira, Tutu, and Nadaun.
It is worth noting that Nishant Sharma was born in the year 1989 in the village of Habban in the Pajhouta valley of Rajgarh. His father Deshraj Sharma is a businessman and his mother Nirmal Sharma was an ideal teacher. He completed his education till matriculation from his village Habban. Thereafter he passed B.Sc from Degree College Solan and Master’s degree in Public Administration from HP University. After passing the Civil Services examination from Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Shimla, he first started his service as Block Development Officer in Chaupal. Thereafter he served as BDO in Gauhar, Sujanpur Tira, Tutu and Nadaun of the state.
In 2020, Nishant Sharma was honored with the Skoch Order of Merit Award for the MNREGA Park by India’s prestigious Skoch Group. In 2021, Nishant Sharma performed remarkable work in the development of rural tourism areas. Additionally, he played a key role in reorienting MNREGA and developing major projects for the public good through innovative initiatives. For this remarkable contribution, the state government personally honored Nishant Sharma with the State Civil Service Award in 2021. It should be noted that Nishant Sharma is the only Block Development Officer in the state to receive the Civil Service Award. As BDO, he gave Sujanpur a new identity by establishing the Char Dham in Sujanpur Tira. During his tenure, Nishant Sharma served with Chief Ministers in Siraj, Sujanpur Tira, Shimla Rural, and now Nadaun.
