Shimla, February 8: Clarifying reports surrounding the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) presentation held in Shimla today, sources stated that certain claims regarding the Opposition’s absence are misleading and factually incorrect.
It has been clarified that the Hon’ble Chief Minister personally wrote a formal letter inviting the Leader of the Opposition to participate in the RDG presentation. Despite this official invitation, no representative from the Opposition attended the programme.
Some media statements have alleged that the invitation was issued only at the सचिव-level and that protocol was not followed. However, the factual position indicates that the invitation was formally extended by the Chief Minister himself.
In the interest of transparency and public awareness, it has been requested that the copy of the Chief Minister’s invitation letter to the Leader of the Opposition be published and highlighted to ensure that accurate and verified information reaches the public.
