Dr. Pankaj Lalit ji, Director of the Department of Language and Culture, was the chief guest of the launch ceremony of Dr. Vijay Lakshmi Negi’s first poetry collection “Gaon Poochta Hai” organized by the Himalayan Literature, Culture and Environment Forum in the historic Gaiety Auditorium today. In my welcome statement, I made a humble request to him on behalf of the writers of Himachal that the books of Himachal writers should be displayed in the Delhi Book Fair along with the books of the Academy because the books of the writers who get their books published from their own resources are not available in the book fairs. Patti. The Academy can display books for sale on the lines of Shimla Book House. Besides this, poetry readings etc. can also be organised.
It was also requested that the General Council meeting should be called as soon as possible.
Pankaj Lalit assured that decisions on both these suggestions will be taken on priority basis.
