Shoolini University organised its first-ever Summer Patent School in which students from leading schools of the country participated with enthusiasm.
The first batch of 18 students who participated in the programme included Emerald Heights, Indore, Strawberry Fields, Panchkula , Mayo College (girls), Ajmer and Bal Bharati, Delhi. They were taught about research and how they could convert their ideas into prototypes and patents.
Atul Khosla, Founder and Vice Chancellor of the University inaugurated the event and welcomed the students. He interacted with the students and asked about their interests and ambitions.
During the seven-day programme, the students attended various sessions on IP rights, process of ideation, problem solving, patenting and many more. The ideas of some students were brilliant and taken ahead for patenting by Shoolini researchers. Students also had one-on-one sessions with the researchers on how to evolve their ideas. Students also enjoyed cycling, tree plantation, theatre and self discovery sessions.
Vice President Ms. Avnee Khosla said, “Our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Atul Khosla conceptualised this intellectually triggering research experience. This first of its kind residential patent school gave a lifetime research and innovation experience to some of India’s top high-school innovators from across the country”.
Shikha Sood, Head of Outreach said that she was very happy to see such young innovators at the first residential Summer Patent School. The selection process was tough and it yielded great results, she added.
