In a groundbreaking event aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, the RIDE Hack’24, a 48 hrs hackathon was inaugurated on April 25, 2024. It’s a collaborative event of Jaypee Higher Education System. The occasion witnessed the convergence of academic leaders, industry experts, and enthusiastic students, all poised to push the boundaries of technology and creativity. Hon’ble Member of HPPERC, Prof. Shashi Kant Sharma Ji, graced the event with his presence, offering valuable insights into the realm of open-source development and its significance in today’s digital landscape.
Prof. Vivek Kumar Sehgal, HoD Computer Science and Engineering department, motivated students to channel their creativity and innovation into tangible solutions. General rules and guidelines for the hackathon were eloquently laid out by Prof. Shruti Jain, Associate Dean (Innovation). She encouraged students to embrace a mindset of innovation and disruption. Inspirational words resonated from Prof. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Dean of Academics & Research, as he urged students to not only seek solutions to existing problems but also to become pioneers in creating job opportunities through their innovations. Highlighting the essence of the hackathon, Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor shared invaluable points emphasizing the importance of being job providers rather than job seekers. He stressed the need for fostering teamwork and collaboration among participants. Drawing from personal experiences, he underscored the significance of mentoring students to become successful entrepreneurs. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of integrating skill-embedded courses to enhance employability and the need to cultivate entrepreneurship skills among students. Emphasizing the stellar reputation of the university, Prof. Shashi Kant Sharma Ji proudly declared JUIT as not only the best university in Himachal Pradesh but also a shining beacon of academic excellence in India.
As the event unfolded, participants were infused with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to tackle real-world problems with innovative solutions.
