Kuddu-Saraji road and Shilol road have been restored
Education Minister Rohit Thakur was present today in Kuddu Panchayat, a border panchayat of Jubbal sub-division of his assembly constituency Jubbal-Kotkhai, where he took stock of the damage caused by floods and landslides due to heavy rains in the past few days. It is worth noting that Kuddu Panchayat under sub-division Jubbal has suffered the most damage. However, the main road of this area, Kuddu-Saraji Marg, has been restored today.
Rohit Thakur said that Himachal has suffered unprecedented damage during the rainy season this year and his constituency is also not untouched by it. Crores of rupees have been lost due to floods and landslides. Two major national highways of upper Shimla – 705 (Theog-Hatkoti road) and national highway – 707 (Hatkoti-Paonta Sahib road) have been damaged at different places, but due to the promptness and vigilance of the officers and employees of the Public Works and Police Department and the National Highway Authority, traffic is running smoothly on both these highways. During this disaster, the roads under Jubbal Mandal have suffered a loss of Rs 57 crore. However, in view of the apple season, all the connecting roads have been restored. Also, the border Shilol road falling under Khanashani area has also been restored so that the gardeners will be able to transport their apples to the market on time. Apart from this, 8 houses have been completely damaged and 103 houses have been partially damaged under Jubbal and Saraswati Nagar. He informed that all the affected people are being provided relief by the government as per the rules.
Transporting apples to the markets is a top priority
The Education Minister said that in this situation, his priority is to transport the apple crop of the orchardists to the markets because apple is the main source of livelihood for the people here. He said that he is in constant touch with all the officials and along with the main road, all the connecting roads have also been restored. Apart from this, work is being done to open the remaining roads day and night.
Apples being bought at apple purchasing centers

While discussing the subject of electricity and drinking water facilities, Rohit Thakur said that due to heavy rains, various schemes of Vidyut and Jal Shakti Department have also been damaged. At present, the supply of electricity has been restored and the work of restoring drinking water schemes temporarily is also going on on a war footing. Employees of all departments are working diligently. Apart from this, he also established communication with the villagers who came from Solang, Pandranu, Jhalta and Giltari Panchayats.
