In Hamirpur also, a case of embezzlement of more than fourteen crore rupees in the name of crypto currency has come to light. In the crypto currency fraud case, cases have been registered against a total of 11 people in police station Sujanpur and police station Badsar. In the first case, Neelam Kumari resident Ri Bhalana Sujanpur complained that she and her associates were defrauded of Rs 14 crore.
A case has been registered against six people in Sujanpur police station. In the second case, Naveen Kumar, resident of Chakmoh under police station Badsar, has lodged a complaint that he has been cheated of Rs 40 lakh in the name of crypto currency. A case has been registered against five people on this.
Till now, a case has been registered against 11 people for fraud in the name of crypto currency and a fraud of Rs 14.40 crore has been done. Superintendent of Police Dr. Aakriti Sharma said that cases have been registered in two police stations in the name of crypto currency fraud. Further investigation is ongoing.
The property of the accused will be investigated
The assets of those accused of committing fraud in the name of crypto currency will be investigated. In the case registered at Palampur police station, the special investigation team of the police has arrested Sukhdev from Himachal and Hemraj Thakur from Gujarat. The search for the main accused Subhash Sharma is going on. In this case a scam of Rs 18 crore has been exposed.
Till now, there have been more than 56 fraud complaints in Himachal. According to the SIT, apart from the three accused, other people from Himachal are also involved in the fraud. This game of fraud was going on since the year 2018-19. The arrested accused are from Mandi.
The SIT claims that when the complainants asked for a refund, the accused threatened them. DIG Abhishek Dullar said that a fraud of Rs 18 crore has taken place in the case registered in Palampur. Many arrests are to be made in this case. Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said that the ringleaders of the scams are being traced.
