Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said here today that an amount of Rs. 72 crore has been released under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for the repair of roads damaged by heavy rains during the monsoon season in the state.
He said that this fund would be utilized for repairing damaged roads in various areas of the state adding that a provision of rupees one crore has been made for each assembly constituency. So far funds worth Rs. 259 crore have been released under NDRF and SDRF in the current financial year to various divisions of the Public Works Department for the improvement and repair of roads damaged during disaster, he added.
Vikramaditya Singh said that during the disaster the main roads across the state were restored in record time and link roads in apple growing areas were opened on priority to facilitate the apple growers. He said that the department was working diligently for the development of road infrastructure and maintenance of roads in the state.
