Traditional fairs play an important role in preserving the rich culture along with social harmony in our lives
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Aniruddha Singh today attended as the chief guest the closing ceremony of the traditional two-day district level Sipur fair at Sipur in Mashobra Gram Panchayat of Kasumpti Assembly constituency.
On this occasion, he said that traditional fairs play an important role in social harmony as well as in preserving the rich culture in our lives. He said that Himachal Pradesh is a treasure trove of rich local heritage which reflects the traditions, art and culture of this place. He said that fairs and festivals not only bring local people together but also fulfill the aspirations and needs of the people at community and business level.
Congratulating all the representatives of Mashobra Panchayat and Fair Committee for the successful organization of the fair, he said that along with the Sipur fair, all the religious and social fairs of this region are a symbol of religion and faith for the people here, which should be celebrated with great pomp and show.
250 crores are being spent on development works in Kasumpti area
While talking about the development of Kasumpti Assembly constituency, he said that the Chief Minister of the state has approved an amount of about 250 crores for the construction of various development works in this Assembly constituency, through which the unpaved roads of this Assembly constituency will be paved, roads and drinking water will be provided to all the villages, the problem of low voltage will be eliminated and all the development works of the Panchayat area will be implemented.
Development work is being done in Mashobra Panchayat area with 30 lakh rupees
While discussing the development works of the local Panchayat, he said that the present government has sanctioned an amount of about 30 lakh rupees for the development works of Mashobra Panchayat area and the process of spending the said amount on development works is underway as per the announcements. He said that FCA cases and other formalities of 22 different roads have been completed for the construction and widening of various roads of this area, the construction work of which will be started soon, while the process of completing the gift deed and other formalities of 65 roads is underway. He appealed to the villagers to give gift deed soon for the construction of roads so that all the villages of the area can be connected by road.
He said that four roads under Kasumpti assembly constituency will be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana and seven roads will be constructed under MLA priority. He said that a target has been set to make all small and big roads connecting the panchayat area of Kasumpti assembly constituency 80 percent paved and this process is going on. He said that the process is going on to widen and pave the Sipur-Deyothi connecting road. He said that modernity will be provided while maintaining the old style of Sipur temple. He also directed the Range Officer of the Forest Department to repair the main gate of the temple in the old style and artwork.
He also announced to give Rs. 5,000 each as incentive to the children of all the 12 schools who gave their presentations in the two-day Sipur fair.
Apart from this, he also released the souvenir published on the occasion of Sipur Fair.
Welcoming the chief guest, head of the local Gram Panchayat, Gayatri Verma, gave detailed information about the various development works being carried out in the Panchayat area, in addition to the programmes and sports activities organised in the two-day fair.
On this occasion Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Chandrakanta Verma, Vice-Chairman Vikram Thakur, Chairman Fair Committee and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shimla Rural Manjeet Sharma, BDO Mashobra Ankit Kotiya, Tehsildar Shimla Rural Sanjeev Gupta, Mandal Congress former President Ramkishan Shandil, Municipal Corporation Shimla Councilor Vishakha Modi, local Deputy Pradhan Sita Ram Sharma, former Pradhan and Convener Fair Committee Balak Ram Verma and Om Prakash along with officers of other departments, people’s representatives of Mashobra Panchayat and the surrounding Panchayats and a large number of people were present.
