Mandi
The tragedy in Devbhoomi Himachal has even caused harm to the gods and goddesses. Since the gods and goddesses are highly revered by the local population, if a tragedy strikes, they also carry out ceremonies and other chores in accordance with their Dev Niti to stop it and find a solution. The Kul Devta of Mandi state and district, Rishi Parashar, has begun the process of resolving the natural disaster’s effects.
Tirth Raj Thakur, the priest of Shri Dev Rishi Parashar, said that on the special invitation of Dev Parashar, the main deity of the area Snor Jwalapur, Shri Dev Barnag has been called to resolve this natural disaster under the Dev Ritu-Niti. Dev Barnag will reach Parashar Maharaj’s Mool Kothi i.e. Bhandar in village Baandi on 5 September i.e. 21 Bhadon and the Devta’s Jagran will be organized at night. The next day, on 6th September, the ritual will be performed in the presence of Dev Barnag in the original house of Shri Dev Parashar, as per the Dev rituals.
Shri Dev Barnag is the troubleshooter of Parashar Maharaj
It is worth mentioning that Shri Dev Barnag has been the troubleshooter of Parashar Maharaj and is still the troubleshooter. Its description is clearly found in history. During the princely era, whenever there was a crisis in Mandi princely era, Dev Barnag resolved it as per the orders of Parashar Maharaj. Even during the Corona era, when there was a crisis in the whole country and the world, Dev Barnag had said that if Parashar Rishi orders and gives permission, he will go to Mandi district and resolve it as per the Dev rituals. But in view of the circumstances at that time and as it was not legally possible, Dev Parashar did not give any such order or permission.
It is worth noting that Rishi Parashar in Mandi princely era and Dev Kamrunag in Suket princely era have the status of Badadev. Besides being the family deity of the Mandi royal family, Rishi Parashar has also been fulfilling the responsibility of protection and security of the Mandi princely state till date.
