Instructions for ensuring immediate action and relief
Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi today chaired the disaster management meeting held at Diggal to review the damage caused by heavy rains and landslides in 15 gram panchayats of Arki assembly constituency under Nalagarh sub-division and gave necessary instructions to all the concerned officers.
Sanjay Awasthi said that roads, electric transformers, power sub-stations, crops, agricultural land and water supply projects have suffered heavy damage in various parts of the region. Due to this disaster, people’s lives have been affected extensively. He directed the Revenue Department and other departments to make a precise assessment of the damage caused by the continuous rain and provide as much help as possible to the affected people.
The MLA expressed deep sorrow over the loss caused by landslides and floods and assured that the state government is making every possible effort to deal with this dire situation efficiently. He said that prompt rescue operations were launched in the affected areas and by doing timely disaster management, many invaluable assets of the state have been saved. He directed the administration to work in coordination with the public representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and local people for relief and rescue operations. He directed to immediately restore electricity and water supply in the disaster affected areas so that people do not have to face any inconvenience in daily life.
He said that 22 connecting roads of 07 Gram Panchayats around Diggal area were closed due to heavy rains, out of which 19 roads have been opened for traffic and Chamdar, Jhaandhu and Nisal will also be opened for traffic soon. He directed the Agriculture Department and Animal Husbandry Department to submit an assessment of the damage to livestock and crops within four days.
Sanjay Awasthi said that around this area, 5 concrete houses have been completely damaged and 22 concrete houses have been partially damaged. 25 cowsheds, 6 kutcha houses have been completely damaged and 6 kutcha houses have been partially damaged and four kitchens and 100 bigha agricultural land have been damaged due to heavy rain. In these areas, Rs 1.40 lakh cash and 55 tarpaulins were distributed as immediate relief to the affected people.
He inspected the losses suffered by Kesar Chand, Daulat Ram and Gopal Chand of Katal village of Gram Panchayat Chamdar, affected by the disaster, and provided Rs. 5,000 in cash, ration and first aid kit as immediate relief.
He also heard public problems on the occasion and directed the officers to resolve them immediately.
He directed all the officials to expedite the relief work. He assured that the state government will ensure to provide adequate funds to help the disaster affected people.
