Special conversation with Shimla-based artist Abhimanyu Pandey
Abhimanyu Pandey, an actor and film writer, was raised and schooled in Shimla despite being born in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia region. In this city, he has experienced the most exquisite moments of his life. Shimla holds a special place in his heart because of this.
With theater and film, Abhimanyu Pandey, who has been working in Mumbai for the past 20 years, has established a unique personality. He is now collaborating on a romantic drama set in Shimla with acclaimed filmmaker Narayan Singh (director of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Batti Gul Meter Chalu). In order to do research and write this novel, he is now residing in Shimla.
The life story of Abhimanyu Pandey and current cinema trends.
There are now more obstacles in the film industry. In Abhimanyu’s opinion, writing a movie has gotten extremely difficult in the modern day. It has become crucial, he continued, to avoid writing anything that offends someone’s social or religious sensibilities. The public is today extremely conscious and cannot be swayed by merely displaying emotive situations. The younger generation enjoys stories that are grounded and realistic.
There will soon be a folklore-based horror series.
In addition, Abhimanyu Pandey said that his horror web series, “Bhakk Aisa Bhi Hota Hai Kya,” which is based on Indian mythology, will debut on the over-the-top platform “Stage App” in August of this year. The goal of this series is to both frighten and introduce viewers about Indian customs and folklore.
“My soul is inscribed with Shimla.” This is where my creativity comes to life. Everything about this city—the people, the streets, the air—inspires me.
One of the few artists who is able to write stories that are both genuine and poignant while maintaining a connection to their heritage and comprehending the demands of contemporary filmmaking is Abhimanyu Pandey. His work has the clarity of modern thought mixed with the scent of folklore.
