A meeting of the Block Task Force and Block Level Review Committee constituted under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was held today in Arki under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nishant Tomar.
Addressing the meeting, Nishant Tomar said that girls play a vital role in the welfare and development of society. He added that the state government has launched several impactful initiatives to ensure active participation of women in social activities and development, while empowering them to become self-reliant and capable.
The SDM directed concerned officials to organise career counselling sessions and periodic exposure visits for the empowerment of girls under the scheme. He also instructed officials to create awareness among pregnant and lactating women regarding balanced nutrition and proper care under the Poshan Abhiyaan, along with ensuring regular growth monitoring of children.
Officials were further directed to promote and regularly monitor vaccination programmes to ensure that no beneficiary, especially from migrant populations, is left out.
He also instructed the Child Development Project Officer to honour girls who have excelled in education, sports, and cultural activities at the block level on international observance days.
Following the meeting, a training session was conducted on the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, during which officials were briefed in detail about the provisions of these legislations.
Officials from various departments, including the Child Development Project Office Arki, were present on the occasion.
