Bijhari, 20 March. The meeting of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Working Committee and the Block Level Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of SDM Rajendra Kumar Gautam, in which a detailed discussion was held about the implementation of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in the year 2024-25 as per the action plan.
Under this scheme, training and capacity building of daughters, exposure tours for girls aged 11-18 years, identifying 3 local champion daughters from each Panchayat and making photo flexes and installing them at public places, honoring mothers and adoptive parents who give birth to daughters, sex ratio, health check-up of adolescent girls and organizing workshops on gender equality and behavior change for adolescents, marathons, etc., were discussed.
Child Development Project Officer Manoj Kumar informed that currently 273 Anganwadis are being operated in the block; through these Anganwadi centers, 3614 children from 6 months to 6 years and 901 pregnant and lactating women are being benefited under the nutrition program. Similarly, in various schemes run by the government, 40 beneficiaries have benefited from Chief Minister Kanyadaan and Chief Minister Shagun Yojana in the year 2024-25. 3 couples benefited under the Widow Remarriage Scheme. In the meeting, committee members included the Block Committee Chairman, Health Department, Development Block, Education Department, Police Department, Food Department, Welfare Department, and Women and Child Development Officer.
