Shimla
“Send my drug addict son to jail; otherwise, he will die. This is not a dialogue from a movie, but a helpless mother in Shimla who called SSP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi at 1.30 am. On the phone, the mother sobbed and asked him to put his son in jail. Not only did she ask the police to take harsh action against her children, but now every parent and home in Himachal is praying that their children would be sent to jail so that they can at least have their lives saved.
A while ago, the young man was taken into custody. Due to his affiliation with a drug-smuggling gang, the police recently arrested the young man for whom the mother had called the SSP. However, he once more drowned in narcotics after being granted bail. The mother now fears that her son’s addiction may drown him if he is not put back in jail.
The rising drug addiction epidemic in Himachal Pradesh is exemplified by this incident. The region has seen a great number of families ruined by chitta addiction. Overdose has claimed the lives of many parents’ only child. Numerous children have been arrested by police. Despite getting arrested for selling and using narcotics, this tendency appears to be continuing.
Two children were recently apprehended by Shimla police carrying chitta. According to an investigation, one of these children’s brothers had previously passed away from an overdose, and he is currently a heroin addict. Despite having raised both sons with optimism, the mother’s life has been engulfed in darkness due to drug use.
In Shimla, seven children have already passed away from overdosing. Seven children have died in Shimla city from chitta overdoses thus far, according to the police, but the real number may be much higher. Many incidents are unreported because family members are afraid of being embarrassed in public.
Chitta is causing early deaths, according to SSP Sanjeev Gandhi. It is currently turning into a catastrophe in every home. Drug traffickers are the target of ongoing police action. However, society must also step up. Notify the authorities right away if you know anything about drug sales or smuggling.
