Shoolini University’s Dialecticuss, The Himalayan Literary Forum organised a session titled “The Manifold Aspects of Rice Across the Globe.”
Prof Jeewan Singh Kharakwal, Director of Sahitya Sansthan, Udaipur Vidyapeeth, was the keynote speaker. He discussed the cultural, historical, and agricultural importance of rice.
During the session Prof. Kharakwal talked about the origins of rice cultivation in Asia and its subsequent global dissemination. He also emphasised the role of rice as a cultural symbol in various societies, shedding light on its integral part in rituals, festivals, and cuisine.
Prof Kharakwal stressed the need for responsible and sustainable farming practices to secure the future of rice cultivation.
Prof. Tej Nath Dhar, Mr. Hemant Kumar Sharma, Dr. Ekta Singh, and Prof. Nasser Dashtpeyma actively engaged in the discussion, posing thought-provoking questions on various aspects of rice cultivation, history, and cultural importance.
Earlier Dr. Purnima Bali welcomed the speaker and attendees. The event ended with the concluding remarks by and Dr. Navreet Sahi.
