Not only the hilly areas but also the plain areas are not untouched by the severe cold. Cold wave has started in Una and Bilaspur. In Una, the coldest recorded for 9 years. Una recorded a minimum temperature of -1 degrees Celsius. On December 24, 2015, a temperature of -3.3 degrees Celsius was recorded here. On Saturday, there was sunshine in the entire state, including the capital Shimla and the maximum temperature of Solan was recorded higher than Una.
The maximum temperature in Solan was 26 degrees, while Una recorded 24 degrees, while the maximum temperature in the capital Shimla was 18.9 degrees. The minimum temperature in about a dozen cities of the state has gone below zero in minus, and the minimum temperature in Tabo has been recorded at minus 11.5. Apart from this, minus 8.2 degrees have been recorded in Kukumseri, minus 5.7 in Samdho, minus 0.2 in Sundernagar, minus 1.7 in Bhuntar, minus 1 in Kalpa and Una, minus 0.2 in Hamirpur, minus 1.5 in Seobagh, minus 1.2 in Berathi and minus 1.7 in Bajaura.
The weather in the state remained clear and dry in the last 24 hours and moderate fog was observed at isolated places in Mandi. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain mainly clear and dry in most parts of the state for the next 6 days. The weather remains dry in the north-western Himalayan region. There are chances of a gradual increase in minimum and maximum temperatures from 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state for the next three days. Water has started freezing in the hilly areas of the state. Due to lack of rain and snowfall, the concern of farmers and gardeners has increased.
