A miscreant entered the ATM cabin at midnight with the intention of robbery and attempted to break the machine. Although the accused was not successful in breaking the machine, he did cause damage to the ATM. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the ATM cabin. The bank branch manager was informed of the incident and filed a police complaint against an unknown individual. Police have launched a search for the accused. The incident occurred in the Chopal police station area of Shimla district.
According to the case, on September 18th, an unknown individual attempted to break into an SBI ATM in Chopal market with the intention of theft. The incident occurred at around 1:00 am. Nathu Ram Jasta, branch manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Chopal, was informed of the incident. He immediately informed the police and filed a written complaint at the Chopal police station. In the complaint, the branch manager stated that an unknown individual attempted to break into the ATM at around 1:00 am, but was unsuccessful in carrying out the theft. The accused damaged the ATM.
After receiving the complaint, the Chaupal police station promptly registered a case and began an investigation. A case has been registered under sections 331(2), 305(E), 62, and 324(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Police are now working to identify the accused using CCTV footage. A police officer stated that the footage has provided important clues about the accused’s appearance and activities. The accused has been identified as being of Nepali origin, and efforts are underway to arrest him as soon as possible.
