Shimla
The Ridge emerged as a vibrant trade hub for local products during the Him MSME Fest–2026, with business transactions exceeding ₹30 lakh in just three days. The impressive turnout reflected growing consumer confidence in the state’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
More than 50 stalls were set up at the festival, including factory outlet stalls introduced for the first time. These outlets offered products from renowned and trusted brands at factory-direct rates, significantly lower than market prices. The initiative not only gave consumers access to quality goods at affordable prices but also provided local entrepreneurs with a strong platform for direct marketing.
The festival featured a wide range of products, including handlooms, leather goods, food items, and wood products. Tourists from across India and abroad shopped enthusiastically, giving Himachal Pradesh’s local products wider recognition and access to new markets. Truly reflecting the spirit of “local to global,” the event enabled direct interaction between consumers and local artisans, entrepreneurs, and producers.
The initiative to promote Himachal’s local products was widely appreciated by consumers, tourists, and entrepreneurs alike. The innovative effort by the Industries Department was described as highly beneficial for strengthening the MSME sector.
On the occasion, Dr. Yunus, Director of the Industries Department, congratulated all entrepreneurs, participants, and officials associated with the event for the resounding success of the Him MSME Fest–2026. He said such events not only provide strong market access to local products but also boost the state’s economy by generating employment and encouraging entrepreneurship.
