The problem of parking becomes more pressing each year as the summer capital welcomes thousands of visitors. However, the SMC has now resolved this issue by establishing smart parking sites in collaboration with the Coco Park Company of Germany.
MC Commissioner Bhupendra Attri said that the SMC is going to open a new tourist facility prior to Diwali. There will be two smart parking lots constructed, i.e., one in Dhalli and the other in the lift. There is space for 700 cars to park in lift parking, and 150 cars can park in Dhali parking. The experiment will be conducted in additional parking lots if all goes according to plan.”
He stated that the Dhali and Lift parking would soon have CCTV cameras and an online system established.

The screen will show precise data regarding the overall count of cars parked in these lots, as well as the amount of unoccupied space. Reservations for parking spaces can be made by obtaining information about available spots on Taradevi’s LED screen. Using a smartphone app, both the reservation and parking fee payments will be made. Additionally, details about the app will be displayed on the screen. The company also preparing the app. The Municipal Corporation claims that Coco Park Company is funding the start of this project in two parking lots on its own. This organization offers its customers smart parking facilities. Every year, thousands of visitors arrive in Shimla. During weekends and peak travel times, the majority of these parking lots fill up, forcing visitors to make their way around. They will now benefit from the smart parking facilities.
Dheeraj Chandel, Project Director, Municipal Corporation, Shimla told crazynewsindia that the city is converting two parking lots into smart parking lots. Travelers will learn which parking spaces are available in the city at the Taradevi entry gate before arriving in Shimla. They can use the app to make their reservation. In order to open the facility this month, preparations are underway.
