Shimla: The district administration has issued the reservation roster for the Shimla Zila Parishad ahead of the 2026 panchayat elections, outlining ward-wise seat allocation across the district.
The notification, released by the Deputy Commissioner, details reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), women, and unreserved categories across all wards. Several constituencies have been earmarked specifically for SC women and women candidates, in line with reservation norms under the Panchayati Raj Act.
As per the roster, multiple wards across blocks such as Rampur, Rohru, Chopal, Theog, and Mashobra have been reserved under different categories, ensuring representation of marginalized sections and women in local governance.
Officials said the roster has been prepared following due guidelines and will be applicable for the upcoming general elections to the Zila Parishad. The move is expected to set the stage for electoral preparations in the district.
The administration has made the roster public for general information, allowing prospective candidates to assess eligibility and prepare for the polls accordingly.
