Wins ₹1.80 Lakh Scholarship
Shimla, January 24:
Bhavya Sharma, a talented student of Government High School Dhali in Junga tehsil, has made her school and region proud by securing third position in Shimla district in the Golden Jubilee State Junior Merit Means Scholarship Examination.
With this remarkable achievement, Bhavya has become eligible to receive a total scholarship of ₹1.80 lakh for three years (Class 6 to 8) under the SJMMS scheme.
Principal Rakesh Verma shared that Bhavya recently passed Class 6 from the school and will now receive a monthly scholarship of ₹4,500 in Class 6, ₹5,000 in Class 7, and ₹5,500 in Class 8.
He added that Bhavya has successfully cleared the scholarship exam twice, highlighting her consistent academic excellence. Out of 11 students from Shimla district who cleared the examination, Bhavya secured the third rank.
Bhavya belongs to Thund Karauli village in Satlai Panchayat. She is the daughter of farmer Balkrishna Sharma, while her mother is a homemaker. Her elder sister Aarushi Sharma, a Class 10 student, has also earned recognition by receiving a scholarship through the National Merit Medal.
School in-charge Rakesh Verma, along with teachers Ashish Sharma, Poonam, Anju Bedi, Anil Sharma, Satyanand Sharma, Mukesh Jaswal, Primary Wing in-charge Hemavati Thakur, and teachers Shivani Sharma and Premlata congratulated Bhavya and wished her a bright and successful future.
