Shoolini University recently hosted the Shoolini Winter Cricket Premier League 2024, a cricket tournament that brought together players and enthusiasts from across the campus.
The event, organized by the Sports Department under the Dean Student Welfare Office Shoolini University, aimed to encourage fitness and teamwork among students and faculty.
Professor Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare, stated that the tournament served as a platform for promoting unity and a healthy competitive spirit.
After a series of matches, the team Akatsuki, led by captain Mayank, emerged as champions. The runners-up, Baby Boomers, led by Rohit Negi, put up a strong fight throughout the tournament.
The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Brig SD Mehta, Director of Operations at Shoolini University, presented the awards. He remarked, “The university remains committed to encouraging sports as a way to build discipline, teamwork, and resilience among students. This tournament reflects our dedication to holistic development.”
Individual performers were also recognized during the ceremony. Anmol received awards for Best Batter, Best Bowler, and Player of the Tournament for his all-round performance. Aashish Sharma was named Best Fielder for his consistent effort on the field. The event received support from Decathlon Solan, which provided trophies and sports equipment.
The event was organized by Vikrant Chauhan, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, and Abhishek, the Cricket Coach, who guided the participating teams.
Vikrant Chauhan said the tournament was a milestone in promoting sports culture and fitness awareness at the university, setting the stage for future initiatives.
