Shoolini University, in collaboration with JioGames, hosted the JioGames VCC Cup – Valorant Championship 2025 with two days of high-energy esports action on the university campus. The championship witnessed remarkable participation and showcased the growing enthusiasm for esports among university students.
The tournament brought together 16 competitive teams from various departments and schools, each demonstrating exceptional strategy, teamwork, and precision on one of the world’s leading competitive gaming titles, Valorant. The matches followed official VCC Valorant rules and were conducted in an elimination and knockout format. The event also featured live shoutcasting and match streaming, allowing spectators to enjoy the thrilling gameplay at the AI and Future Centre–Game Arena.
Sharing his thoughts on the event, Mr Ashish Khosla, President Innovation and Marketing, Shoolini University, said the energy and sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament had been extraordinary. He emphasised that esports was more than entertainment, as it cultivated essential skills such as teamwork, focus, reflexes, and analytical thinking. He further added that the students had proven their ability to excel on a national digital platform, and the university aimed to expand such initiatives in the coming years.
Addressing the participants, Dr Pankaj Vaidya, Head of School, YSAICDS, expressed pride in collaborating with JioGames to host a professional-level esports competition on campus. He stated that the enthusiasm and active participation of students reflected the rapid growth of gaming as a serious competitive field and a promising career path.
A JioGames representative from the Himachal Pradesh Circle also commended the university for its vibrant atmosphere throughout the event. He noted that Valorant had emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing esports titles and praised the VCC Cup for enabling young gamers to showcase their potential and connect with opportunities within the expanding gaming industry.
The tournament provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to the professional esports ecosystem, including shoutcasting, event and stream management, game analytics, and production roles.
