Shoolini University hosted its annual marathon on Teachers Day on the theme of ‘’Together for Earth” after a gap of two years due to the covid pandemic.
The event marathon was flagged off from Thodo Ground to Shoolini University campus, which is a 16-kilometer stretch. The marathon was open to all Shoolini University faculty, staff, and students.
Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla flagged off the marathon. He motivated the participants to run for Mother Earth as well as for their own well-being.
The Marathon had 10 different categories. For students, the first category was boys, and the winner was Rishabh Verma, the runner up Sahil Kumar. In the girls’ category, the winner was Dechen, and the runner up was Skarma. The faculty and staff category, upto 35 years of age, in male category the winner was Mr. Vinay Thakur, the runner up was Mr. Deepak, and in the girls category, the winner was Ms. Bhawna, and runner up was Mrs. Avnee Khosla.
In the age group 35-45 category, first prize was collectively won by Mr. Leela Dhar and Mr Suresh Kumar, and runner up was Mr. Sanjay. In the female category, first prize won by Mrs. Anju, and runner up was Mrs. Alice. In the 45 to 60 year category, the marathon was won by Prof. Narinder Verma and the runner up was Prof. Atul Khosla.
Above 60 years, the marathon was won by Col. Nagial and the runner up was Brigadier SD Mehta. Prof. P.K. Khosla was felicitated as the most outstanding participant of the marathon.
The winners were awarded with cash prizes, medals, and certificates. The whole event was coordinated by the Dean Students Welfare, Mrs. Poonam Nanda, with the help of university staff and student volunteers.
