The Yogananda School of AI, Computers, and Data Science at Shoolini University organised the second edition of its annual TechFest, GLITCH, as part of the Spring Fest.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Ashish Khosla, President of Shoolini University and Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer, Dr. David, Director of Global Education Strategy at the University of Melbourne, Prof. Rose Bryant Smith from the University of Melbourne, and author Mr. Nitish Bhushan.
Dr. Piyush Sewal, assistant professor, was the faculty coordinator of the fest. Dr Piyush shared that the event included five gaming competitions and a 24-hour coding Hackathon. The e-sports segment featured popular games such as BGMI, Free Fire, FIFA, and Valorant, with participation from over 100 students across Shoolini University and other institutions. Visitors also experienced Virtual Reality (VR) games.
The Hackathon saw participation from over 35 coders across 13 teams, who qualified after two screening rounds. The final round lasted 24 hours, during which teams worked on coding solutions for over 18 hours. Judges for the Hackathon were Faculty members from Shoolini University were Dr. Abhishek Tomar, Dr. Waleed Salehi, Mr. Gaurav Dhiman, and Mr. Nitesh Sharma.
Chief guests for the prize distribution were Dr Ashoo Khosla, Chief Learning Officer Shoolini University, Dr. Pankaj Vaidya, Head of the Yogananda School of AI, Computers, and Data Science at Shoolini University. Team Hushed Coders won the first prize in the Hackathon, followed by Team D-Bug Thugs and Team Exceptions as first and second runners-up. In the e-sports events, Team TSG won the BGMI tournament, Pixel Prowlers won the Valorant tournament, and Mr. John won the FIFA tournament.
The second edition of GLITCH offered students a platform to apply and enhance their technical and gaming skills. The event encouraged innovation, teamwork, and hands-on learning in technology.
