Shoolini University organised a series of thought-provoking and inspiring activities to highlight the role of young people in building a better future. Observed every year on August 12 under the initiative of the United Nations, International Youth Day emphasizes the energy, creativity, and responsibility of youth in shaping societies and addressing global challenges. This year, Shoolini University aligned its celebrations with that spirit, focusing on leadership, patriotism, social responsibility, and healthy living.
An anti-drug awareness session and oath-taking ceremony formed a crucial part of the programme. Director of Operations Brigadier Sunit Dutt Mehta addressed the gathering, highlighting the physical, mental, and social dangers of drug abuse while underlining the importance of making informed choices. Interactive discussions encouraged students to reflect on peer pressure, community support, and the need for a drug-free society. The solemn oath taken at the end reinforced the university’s commitment to nurturing responsible, healthy citizens, a message fully aligned with the International Youth Day vision of empowering youth to tackle pressing social issues.
Motivational videos from the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue by the Prime Minister of India were screened next, carrying the theme “Are You Ready to Be the Next Leader?” These messages inspired students to embrace responsibility, take initiative, and work collectively towards the vision of a developed India, a vision resonating with the UN’s call for youth-led innovation and progress.
The celebration also included the screening of awareness videos under the Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swaabhimaan campaign. These highlighted padyatras across India emphasize the Constitution’s role, the importance of civic duties, and the responsibility of youth in safeguarding national pride and unity.
Adding a patriotic dimension, a quiz competition on the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, conducted under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, tested students’ knowledge about India’s history, freedom struggle, and the symbolic power of the tricolor.
