The Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University celebrated Samvidhan Diwas (Constitution Day) with a series of academic and awareness activities to promote constitutional values and legal literacy among students. The celebrations included a debate competition, a poster-making competition, and an awareness parade held across the university campus.
IG Bindu Rani, Inspector General of Police (Crime), Himachal Pradesh, attended the event as the Chief Guest. She addressed the Samvidhan Diwas gathering and also presided over the Valedictory Ceremony of Law Fest 4.0, where she interacted with Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla, Prof Ashish Khosla, President Innovation and Marketing, faculty members, and students.
In her insightful and powerful address, IG Bindu Rani encouraged students to uphold constitutional values and contribute meaningfully to society as responsible citizens and future legal professionals. She also delivered a strong message on the growing issue of Chitta (heroin) consumption among the youth, highlighting its serious physical, psychological, and social consequences. She urged students to remain vigilant, informed, and committed to spreading awareness in their communities.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla said, Shoolini University is committed to nurturing responsible and informed citizens. Initiatives like Samvidhan Diwas and Law Fest 4.0 strengthen constitutional awareness and help shape future-ready legal professionals who will contribute meaningfully to society.
Students from various programmes participated enthusiastically in the debate competition, speaking on themes related to the Constitution, rights, duties, and contemporary legal issues. Ms. Lakshmi Vasundhara won the competition for her articulate and well-reasoned arguments. In the poster-making competition, Doter secured the first position for a creative and impactful depiction of constitutional and anti-drug awareness themes.
The awareness parade was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Vineet Kumar and Adv. Rajiv Chauhan, where students carried placards and messages on constitutional significance and drug abuse prevention. For the competitions, the co-conveners,Ms. Meghna Thakur, Ms Soumya Sharma, and Ms Palak Sharma, along with faculty coordinators Ms Yugasha and Ms Nidhi Singh, ensured smooth organisation and active engagement. More than 150 law students participated in the Samvidhan Diwas activities and the Law Fest 4.0 valedictory session.
Law Fest 4.0 was conducted from 24th to 26th November 2025, offering a blend of offline and online competitions designed to strengthen legal skills and practical knowledge. Offline events included Moot Court and Crime Scene Investigation, while online events comprised PIL Drafting, Case Analysis, and Legislative Review, attracting participation from over 30 teams across institutions.
The fest was organised by the Centre for Clinical Legal Education (CCLE) under the leadership of Director Dr. Renu Pal Sood, who played a key role in planning and coordination. Co-Convener Mr. Vineet Kumar and Adv. Rajiv Chauhan also provided crucial support to ensure the successful execution of the event.
The celebrations concluded with informative stalls on campus that provided students with material on constitutional provisions, legal rights, and anti-drug awareness.
Prof Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean, Faculty of Legal Sciences expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, administration, faculty coordinators, conveners, and student volunteers for making the event a success. The university reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing legal acumen, ethical responsibility, and civic consciousness among its students.
