Solan, January 22:
Shoolini University has once again reinforced its position among the world’s leading higher education institutions by securing a Top 500 global ranking in multiple disciplines in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026. The THE rankings are widely regarded as one of the most credible and comprehensive global ranking systems.
In the latest edition, the University delivered a strong performance across key academic areas. In Engineering and Life Sciences, Shoolini University was placed in the 301–400 global band and ranked joint 3rd in India. In Medical and Health Sciences, it secured a position in the 401–500 global band and ranked joint 8th nationally.
The rankings underscore Shoolini University’s consistent focus on academic excellence, high-quality teaching, impactful research, and meaningful industry engagement. The assessment is based on 18 stringent performance indicators, including teaching quality, research environment, citation impact, international outlook, and industry collaboration, applied uniformly by Times Higher Education across the globe.
Founder-Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla said that the University’s Computer Engineering and Biotechnology programmes are now being regularly recognised among the best in Asia for their academic standards and research output, reflecting Shoolini’s growing academic reputation.
While the University had already featured in the Top 500 bracket last year, the 2026 rankings indicate stronger consolidation and improved national positioning, particularly in Engineering and Life Sciences. This advancement has been driven by increased research output, higher citation impact, expanded international collaborations, and a steadily strengthening academic profile.
Pro-Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand attributed the achievement to focused investments and strategic planning. He said that sustained efforts in faculty development, research infrastructure, and international partnerships are now yielding visible global recognition for the University.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla highlighted that the rankings reflect the strong academic culture fostered on campus. He credited the collective efforts of faculty members, researchers, students, and staff for the achievement, and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to further enhancing teaching quality, research impact, and student outcomes.
